WHO WE ARE.

Our work is a mindset -- authentic, ambitious, intellectually dynamic + politically engaged.

Hooligan Mag began as a project to celebrate community, and we have grown into a collective of artists and thinkers who believe in reinventing the norm by normalizing the alternative. Through collective digital and IRL efforts, we continue to prioritize highlighting voices typically silenced or misrepresented by mainstream media.

Founders Rivka Yeker and J Sath met at a branding agency, where they grew into close friends and collaborators. Infusing their unique approaches to visual and brand identity-building, the two began expanding Hooligan’s mission through Hooligan Creatives with their expertise in design and branding.

Chief Branding Strategist

I'm a writer, event + cultural organizer, brand strategist and a Libra based in Chicago. I graduated from DePaul University with a double major in Media & Cinema Studies and Public Relations and a minor in Creative Writing. Influenced by my multi-faceted passions, I applied my skills of critical analysis, writing and communications to pursue a career that includes just about everything I care about.

While my professional, creative and personal work often overlap, I spend a lot of time thinking, talking, and writing about intergenerational trauma + ancestral healing, community-building, sustainable and ethical branding, post-Soviet Jewish identity, queerness, transformative justice and media & cinema theory. My life ethos is rooted in the belief that culture should be at the center of all political movements.

I approach all my work with Hooligan Creatives with an intersectional, analytical, philosophical, therapeutic, conversational angle, ensuring that all our clients feel listened to and intentionally engaged with.

Creative Director + Senior Designer

I’m a Laos/Vietnamese queer artist and graphic designer that is based in Chicago’s Chinatown. I graduated with a BA in Graphic Design from Columbia College Chicago. I enjoy houseplants and have a deep love for music, art + production.

Inspired by Alice Rawsthorn's book Design as an Attitude, I believe in the power of design and its ability to influence how we interact with "objects, imagery, technology and spaces that fill them", which is why I also believe that design should be an inherently inclusive practice that involves every perspective. By defying the historical notion that design is a "man's world", I aim to be part of a new generation that explores the expansiveness of identity and its influence on how each of us navigates the world. My ultimate intention is to help our clients feel seen.
